Betty Aaby, 78, of Rochester, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Golden Living Center East in Rochester, Minnesota. Betty Caroline Weaver was born on March 27, 1932 to Claude and Edna (Nasers) Weaver in Sibley, IA.

She graduated from Byron High School. On August 30th, 1950, she married Robert Aaby in Rochester, MN. She was employed doing seasonal work for Libby's Canning and then later worked for Waters Instruments. She was a Boy Scouts den mother, and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of Homestead United Methodist Church in Rochester. Betty enjoyed flowers, camping, and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Aaby of Rochester, MN; one daughter, Theresa Aaby of Hinckley, MN; one son, Thomas Aaby of Rochester, MN.; one grandson, Michael (Jennifer) Aaby of Cottage Grove, MN; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Wright of Grand Meadow, MN and Marjorie Hillman of Racine, MN; one sister-in-law, Mavis Weaver of Kasson, MN; four brothers, Virgil Weaver of Rochester, MN, Kenneth (Elsie) Weaver of Rochester, MN, Harvey (Jan) Weaver of Rochester, MN and Harley (JoAnn) Weaver of Babbitt, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three brother-in-laws, and one sister.

The memorial service will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Homestead United Methodist Church, 400 13th Avenue S.E. Rochester, with the Reverend Becky Jo Thilges officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be Monday, July 26, 2010 from 4 -7 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. There will be no reviewal at the church.
