A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery conducted by The Rev. Gary Heaton.
Mrs. Compton was born November 30, 1911, in Warren County, daughter of the late George and Mary Mills Alexander. She was retired from Weavers in Front Royal. She was a member of Front Royal United Methodist Church and was married to the late Giles Compton. Mrs. Compton was the last of 12 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by nieces and nephews Jim Alexander, Harry Alexander, and Barbara Ellinger all of Front Royal, and Linda Luby of MD.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Front Royal United Methodist Church, 1 W. Main St., Front Royal, VA, or to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA, 22601.
