Andrew Dill Hawley (1823-1905) was born on July 2, 1823, at XXXX, to Joel Hawley (1795 - 1855) and Mary (Dill) Hawley (1792 - 1846). On February 14, 1851, in the state of Indiana, Andrew Dill Hawley wed Phoebe A. Webster (Hawley, 1825-1900); and together they raised four children: (1) Marcellus M. Hawley (1852–1886), (2) Charles Franklin Hawley (1853–1953), (3) Harvey Lawrence Hawley (1856–1882), and (4) William Harry Hawley (1858–1938).

Dr. Andrew Dill Hawley served as a "prominent physician in the adjacent small towns of College Corner in Oxford Township of Butler County, Ohio, and West College Corner in Union County, Indiana. He died at West College Corner on March 31, 1905, and was interred a few days later at nearby Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Butler County, Ohio, beside his wife, Phoebe, who had died five years earlier.
