Marion Burchett, 51, well-known resident of Johnson County, died at 2:25 a.m., Wednesday at a local hospital following an illness of two years.

Born December 30, 1900, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Andrew and Lydia Cain Burchett, of this city.

He was married February 19, 1924 to Pearl Stambaugh.To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Louise Adamaitis, Dayton, Ohio, and Marilyn Joyce Burchett, at home.

A life-long resident of Johnson County, Mr. Burchett resided for several years at Lowmansville.He was a resident of Nippa at the time of his death.

Other survivors besides his mother, wife, and two daughters are two sisters, Mrs.Sola Crum, Stambaugh, Mrs.Beatrice Keyser, Huntington,W.Va. and one brother, Tom Burchett of Huntington.

Mr. Burchett returned recently from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where he received the radio active isotope treatment.

A miner by occupation, he was a member of United Mine Workers local No. 8290.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church at Stambaugh with the Revs.Foster Rigsby,and O. I.Williams officiating.
Burial will be in the family cemetery at Stambaugh under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
