George C. Abbott
MILES CITY, MT. ---- George C. Abbott, 93, died Thursday afternoon in the Custer County Rest Home.
Born in Baltimore, MD., a son of Edgar and Karoline Abbott.
He moved to North Dakota from New York City in 1898.
He worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad as a fireman.
He served in the Marines in World War I.
In 1916, he filed on a homestead at Powdersville, where he lived until the early 1970's, when he moved to Miles City.
He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses and a charter member of the Farmers Union Co-op of Miles City.
Survivors include a brother, Arthur of Miles City, MT., two nephews, Charles Abbott of Greenough and Clifford Abbott of Livingston, MT., a niece Mrs. Pete (June) Minow of the Miles City area.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home.
Burial in Custer County Cemetery, Miles City, MT.
