Mrs. Mazzie Ainsley White, 82, of the 1500 block of Wingfield Ave. died Thursday, March 6, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
A native of Tyrrell County, N.C., Mrs. White was a daughter of the late Zeaton and Alice West Ainsley and the wife of the late William David White Sr. Mrs. White was the former owner and operator of the Westover Service Station in Edenton, N.C., and a member of Indian River Baptist Church, Chesapeake.
She is survived by two daughters, Arlene Stewart of Orange Park, Fla., and Judy Bayne of Chesapeake; two sons, Bill White of Walker, La., and Bob White of Virginia Beach; brother, Edward Ainsley of Elizabeth City, N.C.; brother-in-law, Leo LaVoie of Edenton; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Evans Funeral Home Chapel, Edenton, by the Rev. Bob Young. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will gather at the home of Leo LaVoie, 213 E. Eden St., Edenton, N.C.
