Attended a one room country school located on the family ranch.

1933 graduate Morrill High school.


Lifelong career in Nebraska as an educator.

On October 14, 1945 she was married to Glenn S. Ackerson in Hemingford, Nebraska. In 1948 the couple moved to Sidney, Nebraska.

Elva was a teacher in the Sidney public school system until her retirement in 1986.

Elva was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the Order of the Eastern Star, the United Methodist Women and the NSEA.

Survivors include two sons: Stanley of Florissant, CO and Richard of Torrington, WY, two granddaughters, six great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her husband Glenn, her parents and her infant sister Dalta.
