Mahlon S. "Bill" Adams, 81, of Salina, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010, of Alzheimer's disease. Mahlon, the third son of George S. and Ellie (Saunders) Adams, was born Aug. 12, 1928, on a farm near Ada.

On June 13, 1955, Mahlon was married to Mary Ann Stegman in Salina. Mahlon owned and operated the Bill Adams Cabinet Works from 1957 to his retirement in 1990.

He enjoyed his retirement, volunteering at Central Kansas Flywheels Yesteryear Museum. He used his skills helping to restore the church and one room schoolhouse located at the museum as well as restoring a variety of farm equipment on display there.

Mahlon is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann, of Salina; four daughters, Malinda Dillman and husband Dennis, of Washington, D.C., Renay Martin and husband Rick and Shellie Billau and husband Brent, all of Overland Park, and Amy O'Neal, of Salina; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three brothers, Everett, of Dighton, Stan, of Newbury Park, Calif., and Ray, of Chester, Calif.

Cremation was chosen.

A memorial service honoring Mahlon's life will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10, in the church at the Central Kansas Flywheels Yesteryear Museum, 1100 W. Diamond Dr., Salina 67401, with Father Kerry Ninemire officiating.
