Funeral services for Roy Alexander Addington, 74, was held Wednesday October 31 in Phillip and Luckey Chapel in Rockdale, with burial in the Minerva Cemetery.

The Rev. Dean Evans, Pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church officiated.

Mr. Addington died Oct. 30, 10:20 a.m. in the Rosebud hospital. He had been in ill health for several years.

Born Nov. 22, 1889, in Johnson, Kansas to Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Addington, he had come to Rockdale in 1934. He had lived in Rosebud for the past two years.
.
Mr. Addington had been a farmer and rancher. He and Miss Gladys Hirt were married in Kansas and his wife died in 1968 (sic).
.
Survivors include a son, Gene W. Addington of Rockdale; a daughter, Joy L Kornegay of Rockdale; 3 brothers, Emery Addington of Kansas, Ben and Tom Addington, both of Colorado; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Williams of Kansas and grandchildren.

Pall bearers were Joe Caldwell, Wallace C. Shelander, Gordon Beard, Charles Sanders, Jake W. Williams Jr. and Richard Sullivan.
