Leaceille Clifford Abbott, son of Albert and Sara Ellen Abbott, was born March 8, 1897 near Hollis, Kansas. He joined the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Hollis, Kansas, when a boy. He moved to Saline County in 1910. His school days were spent in Hollis and the Salina High School.

Mr. Abbott served in the 318th Army Engineers during War I in Germany.

On June 15, 1950, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Horn at the First Baptist Church in Newton, Kansas. He spent his life farming and was known for his love of horses.

Mr. Abbott entered the hospital at Norton, June 1, 1960 and passed away there on February 21, 1961. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a brother Clement, and a grandson Bruce Warren Abbott.

He leaves to mourn, his widow Kathryn; one son, Clifford of Culver, Ks., one brother, Orville Abbott of Salina, six grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, February 24 at the Park-Holtz Funeral Home. Interment was made in Highland Cemetery.
