Patricia Gail Abercrombie, affectionately known by many as "Patty", of Summerville, entered into her state of eternal rest on the morning of August 31, 2010, following a three year battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease and under the care of Lutheran Hospice.

Born February 6, 1956, in Colleton County, she was the daughter of the late William Royden Hudson, Sr. and the late Ruth Givens Hudson Busch.

She was a graduate of the Baptist College in Charleston where she received her degree from their School of Nursing in 1979.

Patty began her career as a Registered Nurse at Roper Hospital, having worked there from 1979 until 1996, and then transferred to Home Health as Registered Nurse Patient Care Coordinator having worked for them until her time of disability in 2008. She also worked for Pronetics Healthcare as an infusion therapy nurse for close to ten years. Throughout her career Patty remained dedicated to her work.

As strong as her work ethic was her love and her devotion to her family was just as strong; and she will always be remembered for the love she possessed for her children and grandchildren.
