Funeral services for Cortez resident Lois May Geer will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 7 at Ertel Memorial Chapel.
Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery.
Visitation has been set for Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Chapel.
Lois was born March 29, 1945 in Marshall, Mich. the daughter of Louie and Virginia (Anderson) Long. She passed away at her Cortez home on Friday, September 3, 2010 at the age of 65.
On March 31, 1973 Lois married Harold Raymond Geer in Burlington, Mich. Lois and Harold moved to the Cortez area twenty years ago. Lois quickly became involved with children as a bus driver. She loved taking them to 4-H activities and other extracurricular events. Lois enjoyed traveling, bowling, and riding horses in the mountains. She was a superb dancer! Lois was a member and supporter of Blue Star Moms of America.
Surviving Lois are her husband of 37 years, Harold Geer of Cortez; her daughter, Hope K. Geer of Cortez; and by her siblings, Lyle Long and wife, Pat, Lee Long and wife, Sylvia, Linda Long, Lonnie Long, and Lynn Long. Preceding Lois in death were her parents; and two sons, Chad H. Geer and George R. Geer.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Lois Geer with Blue Star Moms of America or the local chapter of Alzheimer's Association.
