Florence Abrams, 86, Milford, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Milford.

Mrs. Abrams was born Florence Cook on Sept. 23, 1914, at Sutton. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Tom, died in 1989.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Haney of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Meridel Abrams of Louisville, Ky.; two sons, Thomas of Harvard and Herbert of Lincoln; two brothers, Harold Cook of Monroe and Samuel Cook of Lupton, Colo.; three sisters, Lillian Zoller of Berthoud, Colo., Dorothy Schmier of Canon City, Colo., and Norma Noyes of California; and two grandsons.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Little Blue Christian Fellowship, Nelson, the Rev. David Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery, Edgar.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Herb Abrams, 519 S. 30th, Lincoln, NE 68510.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Klawitter-Price Funeral Home, 446 S. Main, Nelson 68961

Florence Charlotte Abrams, daughter of Philip and Elnora (sic) (Eberhardt) Cook, was born September 23, 1914, at Sutton, Nebraska. She passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2001, in Milford at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 8 days.

She was raised by her mother's sister, Aunt Molly, an Uncle Billy in Hastings, Nebraska. She was still living in Hastings when she met Tom Abrams. Florence and Tom were married August 30, 1944. This union was blessed with four children.

Homemaker and mother, Florence's love and involvement were her family. Wife of a teacher, she lived in numerous Nebraska and several out of state communities. She lived for 20 years in Angus, Nebraska, and then lived several years with her daughter, Meridel, before moving to the Crestview Health Care Center at Milford.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Philip and Elnora; Aunt Molly and Uncle Billy; her husband, Tom, on May 3, 1989; and five of her sisters and brothers, Helen Knoll, Viola Freet, Irene Thornberg (sic), Marian Cook and Leonard Cook.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Haney of Ridgecrest, California, and Meridel Abrams of Louisville, Kentucky; two sons, Thomas of Harvard and Herbert of Lincoln; two grandsons, Tommy Abrams of Hastings and Clifton Haney of Ridgecrest, California; two brothers, Harold Cook of Monroe and Samuel Cook of Lupton, Colorado; and three sisters, Lillian Zoller of Berthoud, Colorado, Dorothy Schmier of Canon City, Colorado, and Norma Noyes of California.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the Little Blue Christian Fellowship Church, north of Nelson, with the Rev. David Sellers officiating. Music was "Bury Thy Sorrow" with Tae Ree and Cary Glover as vocalists and Tae Ree at pianist. Interment was in Edgar Cemetery, Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements.
