James J. Tobin, 78, of 4412 E. Rome West Road died at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 1996, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Born May 23, 1918, in Peoria to James F. and Elizabeth Eddy Tobin, he married Mary Wilhelm Boylan on Dec. 26, 1942, in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Dennis of Orange, Calif., Timothy and Michael, both of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Ted (Kathleen) Geeraerts of Holmes Beach, Fla.; one brother, Richard of Normal; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, James P. Tobin, one daughter, Sheree Tobin, and one brother.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
