Kathryn A. Abbey, 90, passed away at Katy Manor Care Center in Pilot Grove on Sunday evening, Oct. 3rd, 2010. There will be a graveside service at Walnut Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, Oct. 6th, at 4:30 P.M. with Pastor Jerry Riggert officiating.
Kathryn Abbey was born in Salisbury, North Carolina, March 15th, 1920, the daughter of Walter Artz and Sallie Cauble Artz. She was married to Howard D. Abbey March 25th, 1944. They were a military family who moved to Boonville, MO in 1956 where Kathryn was supportive of her husband in his duties at Kemper Military School. Kathryn worked in the underwriting department of Shelter Insurance for over twenty-three years, until her retirement in 1985. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988 and her son, William Howard Abbey in 1965. She is survived by two sisters and one brother.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Katy Manor the Activity. Arrangements under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
