Funeral of Mrs. Mary Johnson at Catholic Church

Mrs. Mary Frances Johnson, 84, died Monday at 3 p.m. at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Abbott of 410 South Lee street, Garrett, of hardening of the arteries and senility.

The body was taken to the Zimmerman funeral home, where it remained until time for solemn requiem high mass at St. Joseph's Catholic church Thursday at 9 a.m. The Rev. Leon Pisula officiated. Burial followed in Calvary cemetery, Garrett.

Mrs. Johnson was born Jan. 31, 1865, at Avilla and she and Bernard Johnson, a native of Poland, were married in that town Sept. 9, 1886. He was a boilermaker in the Garrett B. & O. shops for many years until his death in 1937.

Surviving besides the daughter with whom she lived are two other daughters, Mrs. J. B. Toole of Columbus, O., and Mrs. John Monehan of Niles, Mich.; four sons, John of Tulsa, Okla., Gus F. of Willard, O., Stephen of 215 South Guilford street, Garrett, and Joseph of Palo Alto, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Joseph's church. Daughters of Isabella and Rosary Society.
