Wolf Point - Mrs. Alice O. Ackerman, 74, died Wednesday in Trinity Hospital.
She was born Mar. 21, 1900, in Fort Kipp, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Shields. She grew up in Fort Kipp.
On Nov. 8, 1929, she was married to Charles Ackerman in Poplar. They lived in Fort Kipp until 1941, when they moved to Portland, Ore., where she worked in the shipyards for two years. In 1967 they moved to Frazer. Earlier this year they moved to Poplar, then to Wolf Point.
Survivors include the widower; six sons, Randy of Oswego, Virgil and Edwin, both of Wolf Point, and Frank, David, and Mel, all of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Alpha Faulkner and Mrs. Geraldine Jakaw of Poplar; two brothers, Julius of Poplar and Fred of Portland; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Ogala and Mrs. Eunice Birthmark, both of Poplar; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial in Fort Kipp Cemetery.
