George M. Abel, 72, of Williamsport, died at 3:42 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 9, 1938 in Danville, Il. to the late Desmond S. and Berneice McCoskey Abel. He and his wife, Susan, were married in Lafayette on July 30, 1982. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Diane Petan (husband: Greg) of New York, N.Y. and Stan Abel (wife: Staci) of Dublin, California; stepchildren, Terri Miller (husband: Greg) and Lisa Bennett, both of Indianapolis, and Tracey Collier (husband: Tony) of Shelbyville; siblings, Margaret Kay (husband: Charles), John Abel and Debbie Abel, all of Williamsport and 5 grandchildren, Jakob and Jordan Petan, Alex and Hannah Collier, and Grace Miller.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
