FOREST CITY, Mo. — John R. Acton Sr., 58, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010, at a St. Joseph hospital.
He was born in Forest City on July 1, 1952, and attended Oregon High School. He worked as a truck driver for Burlington Northern Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle Sr. and Darlene (Hulser) Acton; brother, Larry Acton; and sister, Donna Kay Bradbury.
He is survived by life partner, Lori Acton, Forest City; sons and daughters-in-law: Anthony Taft and Tami Acton of Falls City, Neb.; John Jr. and Christy Acton of St. Joseph; and Thomas Doyle "Tom" and Lacey Acton of Falls City; his brother and sister, Doyle "Zeek" Acton and Nettie Ann McCade, both of Forest City; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Forest City City Park. Burial: Maple Grove Cemetery. Family visitation: 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon.
