JOHN BILLINGS ABBE, son of John Simons and Hannah (Billing) Abbe, born in Enfield, Conn., June 4, 1805; died February, 1876 (or 1878), in Baltimore, Iowa. With his wife and four children he emigrated from Warehouse Point, Conn., to Iowa in 1838. He left a large estate in Baltimore, Iowa, to his widow and one son.
Married (2) MARIA HAHN of New York State, who died about 1855.
Children of John B. Abbe by second wife
1 - Caroline Amelia Abbe, b. 1850; d. 1877; m. George W. Dunn and had a daughter and a son.
2 - John Abbe, d. while at school aged 17.
