Bessie (Betty) Hogg, age 91 of Alma died Monday November 29th, 2010 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Douglasville, (Douglas Co) Georgia but had lived 65 years in Jacksonville, (Duval Co) Florida before moving to Alma in 2005. Betty was daughter of the late Linley Abercrombie and Wilma Cason Abercrombie and was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Hogg, four brothers, Edwin, Robert, Wherry and Carlton Abercrombie, two sisters, Lucille Douglas and Geneva Renfro.

Survivors include two brothers, Oscar Abercrombie of Alma and Felton Abercrombie of Jacksonville, a sister, Faye Wilcox of Alma. Also, several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6 and 9 P M.

Active pallbearers will be, Bernie and Dylan Gager, Leland and Bradley Tyre, Lin Abercrombie and Richie Taylor. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary pallbearers.

Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
