Nell Everhart Koontz, 99, of Rowe Road, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Carolina House.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Charlie Patrick. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Koontz was born Sept. 22, 1910, in Davidson County to David Lindsay Everhart and Maggie Myers Everhart. She was retired from Hanes Hosiery and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Lake Koontz who died October 14, 1996; brothers, Carl Everhart and Robert Everhart; sisters, Tempie Biesecker, Ruth Welch, Ellen Pope, Ann Aaron, and Martha Bowman; and a son-in-law, Carson Carlton.

Surviving are daughter, Nancy Carlton of Lexington; grandson Gregory Carlton and his wife, Shelley; and great-grandchildren Abby Carlton and Rachel Carlton.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of the daughter on Rowe Road.
