Drown Victim's Rites Set
Casper - Funeral services for a Casper chiropractor who drowned Monday near here will be held at noon Tuesday at Memorial Chapel with members of the Baha'i Spiritual Assembly officiating.
Dr. Julian N. Abas, 59, of 910 Devonshire Place, drowned when his 16-foot power boat capsized during an afternoon squall Monday at Pathfinder Reservoir*.
Born March, 21, 1915, at Crookston, Minn. Abas graduated from Logan College in St. Louis, Mo., in 1950. Prior to attending chiropractic school, he was superintendent of ISCO Corp. in St. Paul, Minn.
He was a veteran of the Air Force and a member of the American Legion George Vroman Post No. 2 in Casper.
He had lived in Casper since 1951.
On April 26, 1948, he married Lois Griffith in St. Louis, Mo.
Abas was a member of the Casper Baha'i Spiritual Assembly, Casper Civitans, and the American Chiropractic Association.
Survivors include the widow, Lois of Casper; two sons, George and John, both of Casper; one daughter, Audre, of West Jordan, Utah; three brothers, Murrie of St. Paul, Minn., Edward of South St. Paul, Minn., and Gerald of Rogers, Ark.; four sisters, Gayle Woolson of Haifa, Israel, Dehila Hick of St. Paul, Minn., Vicky Abas of Suffern, N.Y., and Loroli Moore of Minneapolis, Minn.
Flowers or memorials to either the Natrona County Sheriff's Posse of A.I. Woods School would be equally appreciated by the family.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
*Pathfinder Reservoir is in both Natrona and Carbon County.
