ABERNATHY
CARLSBAD--Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Denton-Funchess Funeral Home Chapel for Charles Aaron Abernathy, 28, of National Parks Highway. Larry Wagner will serve as eulogist, and burial will follow in the new section of the Carlsbad Cemetery.
He died Sunday (April 24, 1994) at Guadalupe Medical Center.
Mr. Abernathy was born Oct. 24, 1965, in Carlsbad, where he was raised and educated. He had worked American Metals, Abernathy Trucking, AAA Auto Sales, Mississippi Chemical and was employed at A-1 Auto Sales. He had been a member of the Apostolic Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Abernathy, of Carlsbad; one son, Brandon Abernathy, of Carlsbad; two daughters, Monica and Sharon Abernathy, both of Carlsbad; his father, Irby Abernathy, of Carlsbad; his mother, Barbara Abernathy, of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Philip, Joel and Jeremy Abernathy, all of Carlsbad; three sisters, Rhonda Abernathy, of Nashville, Tenn., Joanna Abernathy, of Carlsbad, and Kimberly Smiel of Nashville; and his paternal and maternal grandmothers.
Allen Salmons, Stephen Salmons, Dathan Perky, Joey Birch, Moses Cabezuela, Nathan Abernathy, Keith Abernathy and John Torres are scheduled to serve as pallbearers.
