Final services will be held at the Jacoby Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, with the Rev. Garold Cooper officiating. Interment will be in the Kane Cemetery. Friends may call at Jacoby Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31st. He was born Dec 3, 1910 at Kane, the son of Albert A. Abbott and Ethel Henkel Abbott and was self employed. His survivors include his parents, Mr and Mrs Albert A. Abbott of Kane; one son, Ethelbert H. Abbott, Jr., Louisville, KY.; five daughters, Mrs Gwendolyn Wisbey, Louisville, KY., Mrs. Jacquelin Rettinghaus, Louisiana, MO., Mrs Nellie May Whorl, Sharon and Ronda Abbott, Alton; a brother, Ernest Wilson Abbott of Kane; a sister, Mrs Mary Flamm, Decatur; 16 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two stepsons, George Blair, Godfrey and James Blair, Seminole, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Mrs Frances Stamper, Alton; seven step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ethel Erthal.
