Nadeen Abnot Johnson Grace Carroll, died peacefully Monday, Jan. 3rd at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, June and Jack MacKenzie, of Boise.

Nadeen is preceded to heaven by her parents, Elizabeth and Elmore Abnot; her sister, Lodema Verneva Kneip; her brother, Taylor Abnot; three husbands, Harry Johnson, Oscar "Obie" Grace, and Dr. Eugene Carroll; and her beloved son, Howard "Buddy".

Nadeen was born in Mound City, KS on Dec. 9, 1912. When Nadeen was 8 years old, the family moved by passenger train to Pingree, Idaho. Growing up, Nadeen and her siblings rode their horses each day to a one-room school house.

She worked on the family's farm and later met and married Harry Johnson in nearby Blackfoot. Nadeen and Harry were blessed with two children, Carma June and Howard.

In 1947, the Johnson family moved to Payette, ID, where Nadeen resided for the next 60 years. In addition to raising her young family, Nadeen worked as the bookkeeper for the family business, Johnson Livestock Hauling. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Payette Seventh-day Adventist Church where she enjoyed a large family of fellow parishioners. Much of her time was spent volunteering for church activities that benefitted the community.

Nadeen enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and church. She also enjoyed reciting poetry that she learned as a girl and had a remarkable memory for the many events of her long life. She played the harmonica and "her" guitar. And, she loved spending time at the family cabin in Garden Valley, ID where she enjoyed the company of her extended family, playing games and having fun.

Nadeen will be missed and forever loved by her friends and surviving family: daughter, June (Jack) Mackenzie, of Boise, ID; grandchildren: David (Sara) Bassford, of Bellevue, WA, Dennis (Robin) Bassford, of Mercer Island, WA, Steve (Pamela) Johnson, of Fallon, NV, Colleen (Brian) Higgins, of College Station, TX, Carma (Marty) Morris, of Boise; great-grandchildren: Nicholas (Jenny) Johnson, Conliegh John Zolman, Sean (Ellen) and Joshua Wallin, Samuel and Katherine Bassford; and many nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren by marriage.
