Gladys H. Jeanneret, 89, passed away Thursday, January 13th, 2011, at her home in Golden Acres Nursing Home, Onaga, KS, where she has been a resident for three years. Gladys lived most of her life in the Onaga area. She was born Jan. 2, 1922, at Onaga, to William and Theresa Tracy Brunkow Honig. She attended grade school at St. Pauls Lutheran School at Duluth and High School at Onaga. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church at Duluth. In 1994, Gladys transferred her membership to the New Hope Lutheran Church in Onaga, becoming a charter member. She was active in the New Hope Lutheran Church, assisting with several church functions and serving as food chairman for one term. On June 3rd, 1942, she married Aaron A. Jeanneret at a Lutheran church in Topeka. He died February 24, 1988. Gladys worked at the dress factory in Onaga and worked as a cook in the local caf. Gladys was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Lou, who died at birth, her parents, three brothers, Roland Honig, Arthur Honig and Harry Honig, and two sisters, Elsa Falk and Adeline Abitz. Survivors include a son, David Jeanneret and wife Cindy Kathrens, Onaga, a daughter, Barbara Kolterman and husband Dale, Onaga, eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 17th, at the New Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Neuchatel Cemetery.
