SYRACUSE, Ind. — Eddie R. Abbott, 47, passed away at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.

He was born Jan. 2, 1964, in Anderson, Ind. to Ernest Robert and Eula Esther (Parmley) Abbott.

Eddie graduated from Pendleton High School, Class of 1982, and received his Associates degree from Ivy Tech.

On Feb. 28, 1988, he married Amy M. Fairfield in Elkhart, Ind., and they moved to Syracuse 13 years ago.

For 12 years, Eddie was employed as an engineer at Fairmount Homes in Nappanee. Prior to that, he was employed with Keystone RV in Goshen, Ind.

He loved hunting, and was an avid Colts fan.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Abbott of Syracuse; daughter, Laini (husband, Trace) Toten of Panama City, Fla.; sons, Pierce Abbott of Syracuse, Jason Abbot of Middletown and Eric Abbott of Muncie; stepdaughter, Karlie (husband, Timothy) Kilmer of Goshen; six grandchildren; mother and stepfather, Esther and Ray Davis of Muncie; father and stepmother, Ernest and Linda Abbott of Anderson; and brother, Alan Abbott of Osceola.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, Ind., officiated by Pastor Bard Cox of Wawasee Lakeside Chapel. Burial will follow at Syracuse Cemetery.
