ALTON C. ADAMS
Alton Carl Adams, 65, of Martinsville, died Saturday, April 20, 1996, at his home.
He was born January 8, 1931, in Patrick County, and was a son of Audrey Harris Adams of Stanleytown Nursing Center and the late Alton Clyde Adams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Wray Adams, in November 1995.
He was retired from the U.S. Army, where he served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Stanleytown Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two stepsons, Ronnie L. Wray of Fieldale and Lynwood Wray of Patrick Springs; one brother, Douglas Adams of Ridgeway; two sisters, Beatrice Turner of Patrick Springs and Evelyn Smith of Bassett; four step-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Stanleytown Baptist Church with the Rev. Edwin Moore officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View Baptist Church cemetery in Patrick Springs.
