Cortez Franklin Abbott

Funeral services for Cortez Franklin Abbott, 77, of 206 4th Avenue NW, who died Wednesday at a local hospital, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Guntharp Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. E.T. Waddell officiating. Funeral will be at Roselawn Cemetery, Guntharp Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Idelma B. Abbott of Decatur; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Gilliam; of Decatur; two grandchildren, Frankie and Shelia Gilliam; four brothers, E.W. Abbott of Birmingham; L.W. Abbott of Cullman; W.R. Abbott of Cullman; H.C. Abbott of Foley; a sister, Mrs. Cora Bates of Cullman.

Robert Snow, Leldon Hill, Robert Holmes, Charlie Gunn, Floyd McCann, Gilbert Thrasher, Eddie Self and Lamar Barnett will be pallbearers.

Member of the men's adult Sunday School class of Westside Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers.

The body will remain at the funeral home until services.

Mr. Abbott was a veteran of World War I, a member of Westside Baptist Church and a member of DAV.
