Laura "June" Egerton, 73, of 111 Mulberry St., died Saturday Feb. 24, 2001, at her residence.
She was born on May 13, 1927, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Homer and Corine Abbott Leap. She was a retired employee of the former Dayton-Walther plant in Carrollton, Ky., and a member of United Autoworkers Union No. 1813 in Carrollton, and Eagles Lodge No. 1158.
Surviving are five daughters, Donna Rae Turner, Becky Sue Hall, and Jody Graham, all of Madison, Eloise "Tootie" Buchanan of Burlington, N.C., and Sheila Lynn Brindley of Seymour; two sons, John R. Egerton of Carrollton and Gary A. Egerton of Florence, Ky.; one sister, Anna Lee of Carrollton; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Egerton, in 1954; one sister, Gladys Johnson; one brother, John Leap Sr.; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lytle-Gans-Andrew Funeral Home, with burial in Springdale Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
