"FUNERAL OF MR. ABBOT Took Place Sunday at His Childhood Home at Bellevue. Bedford City, Dec. 9. – The remains of Mr. William R. Abbot, Jr., were carried Sunday afternoon to Bellevue, the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Abbot, and the scene of his life's career in childhood, youth, and early manhood, accompanied by many relatives and friends. The funeral service was held in the spacious drawing room of the fine old home in the presence of a large assemblage of persons from the neighborhood, Lynchburg, Bedford City, Roanoke and other points, conducted by Rev. T.C. Page, rector of St. John's Episcopal church at this place, who read the impressive, solemn ritual for the burial of the dead . . . The interment took place in the lovely old garden . . . ."
