Robert E. Eanes
Robert Edwin "Tootsie" Eanes, 78, of 807 Carter St., Martinsville, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Axton and he was a son of the late Claude Swanson Eanes and Grace Walker Eanes. In addition, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lula Amos Eanes; and two brothers, Melvin Eanes and Marshall Eanes.
He previously worked for Hampco Apparel and retired from CSI Services. He was a member of Clearview Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Eanes of the home; four daughters, Brenda E. Arrington of Martinsville, Peggy E. Detraz of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Cathy E. Carter of Lake City, Texas, and Vicky E. Stratton of Axton; a stepson, Scott Fulcher of Preston; two sisters, Agnes Aaron of Callands and Joan E. Newman of Martinsville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Burial Park with the Rev. James A. Long officiating.
Visitation will be held at McKee-Stone Funeral Services from 7-8:30 p.m. today.
