Dorothy was born to John Edward and Lacie Powell Freeman
January 11,1914 in Casey, Pawnee County, Oklahoma.
Dorothy went to be with our Lord July 5,2003 while
residing at the Golden Years Retirement Home in Dolores,Co.
On April 22, 1936 she married Samuel Ross Sluder in Trinidad,
Colorado and moved to the Dolores Community. Here they
were blessed with five children.
Dorothy was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church
January 29,1955. She enjoyed studying her Bible daily.
Dorothy enjoyed working with the Dorcus ladies of her
Church when she was able. She also enjoyed doing her
needle work such as crocheting and emboidery work.
Dorothy is survived by three children and their families:
One son Donald Sluder and wife Jaunita of Klamath Falls,
Oregon. Two daughters, Doris Jaques and husband Charles
of Arriba,Colorado, and Peggy Becher and husband Steve
of Cortez, Colorado. Dorothy had eight grandchildren,
Seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews,
and nieces.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents John Edward
& Lacie Powell Freeman, her husband Samuel Ross Sluder,
two sons Charles Edward and Carl Dean Sluder. As well
as Brothers, Clarence Edward Freeman, Homer Freeman,
Gilbert Charley Freeman, Leonard A.Freeman and three sisters,
Myrtle Irene Powell-Stacer, Lucille Lillian Wells Heeren,
Letha Mae Rippetoe-Mechling.
