Barb Aasheim, age 53, died Tuesday, March 08, 2011 at Sanford USD Medical Center after a long struggle with COPD (lung disease).
A memorial service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 11 at Grand Valley Lutheran Church.
Barbara Jean Aasheim was born April 23, 1957 to Walter and Anna (Ronan) Aasheim in Canton, SD.
Barb grew-up in Canton and attended college in Sioux Falls, SD. She last worked for the Canton RSVP where she loved spending time with the people around her. Barb loved fishing, the outdoors, and gardening. She also took great pride in her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as possible. She played a very big role in her eldest granddaughter Madison's life. Barb never failed to put anyone and everyone before herself. She gave more to others in her 53 years than most will be able to in a life time. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Grateful for having shared her life are her sons, Sonny (Jenny-daughter-in-law), Canton, SD and Jim Larson, Canton, SD; brothers, Jim (Marlene) Canton, SD and Al, Canton, SD; sisters, June (Harlan) Paulson, Hudson, SD, Vicki (Scott) Stensland, Canton, SD, and Cindy Williams, Canton, SD; grandchildren, Ryder & Reese Larson, and Madison Larson; special friend, Wendy Dose; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
