She was born May 30, 1915, in Patrick County, Va., to Charles Elam Vaughn and Melissa Ellen Boyd.
She was a member of the Eckman Church of God and was a homemaker, a maker and lover of quilts and a resident of Burk Mountain for the past 41 years. She is preceded in death by, other than her parents, her husband, A. B. Absher; one grandson, Donnie Sizemore; four brothers; one sister. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Spinella, Va. Beach, Va., Mrs. Donald (Susie) Sizemore, of the home; two sons, John L. Absher, Hampton, Va. and Albert Absher Jr., Bedford, Va.; two sisters, Bertha Jones, Eckman, W. Va., Mae Trent, McDowell, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Bennett-Widner Funeral Home Chapel, North Fork, W.Va. with the Rev. Patrick Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Cemetery at Meadows of Dan, Va. with the committal services at 3 p.m. Paulbearers will consist of grandsons. Friends may call Wednesday night from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Bennett-Widner Funeral Home, North Fork. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Boyd Cemetery Fund in c/o Bennett-Widner Funeral Home, P.O.Box 788, North Fork, W. Va.
