Jessica Mary Jones, 16, Donnybrook, ND, died Monday, July 29, 2002, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Donnybrook.

She was born on April 12, 1986, in Minot ND, the daughter of Jeffrey and Cheryl (Manhardt) Jones. She attended kindergarten in Donnybrook. She attended 1st and started 2nd grade at Memorial Grade School in Kenmare. She moved with her parents to Okinawa, Japan, where she lived and attended school from 1993 to 1996. She returned to Donnybrook with her family, and continued her education at Kenmare High School.

Jessica was a member of United Methodist Church, Donnybrook, and was very active in the church choir and youth group. She had recently returned from a mission trip to Mexico with her brother, Casey and fellow church group members. In school, Jessica was also very involved. Her favorite groups were the Kenmare FFA and Roadrunners 4-H Club. She was the team statistician for the Kenmare Girls Volleyball team. She belonged to Drama Club, she was on the Honor roll, Choir, and was class treasurer. Jessica had a special place in her heart for music, and was always involved with her friends.

Survivors: parents, Jeffrey and Cheryl Jones, Donnybrook; two brothers, Jason Jones, Pontiac, MI, and Casey Jones, Donnybrook; paternal grandparents, Jessie Jones and Virginia Jones, both of Clayton, GA, maternal grandmother, Mary (Jerry) Lui, Racine, WI; aunts and uncles, Kelly (Jerry) Sanders, Clayton, Gail (Jim) Richter, Waukesha, WI, and Kathy (Paul) Mitchell, Stone Lake, WI; 8 cousins, Travis, Rachel and Cody Sanders, Adam and Katie Richter, Max, Maddie and Alex Mitchell. Her maternal grandfather, Donald Manhardt, and aunt, Debra Manhardt, preceded her in death.

Funeral Service: Friday, August 2, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Donnybrook, ND. Following the burial service, lunch will be served at the Donnybrook Community Center.

Visitation: Thursday, August 1, 2002, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND.

Burial: Donnybrook Community Cemetery, Donnybrook, ND
