BATH. - In this City on Friday Oct. 14th, 1881, at 7:30 P. M., HYMAN BATH, a native of Camden Prussia : aged 46 years.

Oddly, in the June 25th, 1881 edition of the Vindicator, a legal announcement was published titled "Emily May vs. Hyman Bath, her Husband. District Court, Parish of Natchitoches. No. 8666. It decreed that Emily would "have and recover of the said Hyman Bath, her husband, the sum of Six Thousand Dollars, with 5 per cent interest thereon from judicial demand and costs of suit...a certain lot of ground with the buildings and improvements thereon, situated in the town of Grand Ecore, on the road leading to Natchitoches...a lot of ground with the buildings and improvements thereon, situated in the city of Natchitoches, on the west side of Second street...another lot on the east side of Third street...an undivided one half interest in the household and kitchen furniture, and one horse and buggy, as described in the Succession of S. Aaron, dec'd...It is further ordered, adjudged and decreed that the community of acquets and gains heretofore existing between said Emily May and said Hyman Bath, her husband be, and the same is hereby dissolved, and that the said Emily May, hereafter have the control and management of her separate estate...signed D. PIERSON, Judge 11th District Court.

The trevails of Hyman's wife, Emily, were chronicled in Natchitoches newspapers in the local news columns:

Last Sunday, while Mrs. Hyman Bath was sitting in the window of her residence on Second street, she leaned out to play with one of her children. She lost her balance and fell some distance to the ground, dislocating the wrist of her left hand, cutting a gash in her lip and otherwise bruising her face. Her escape from more serious injuries may be considered fortunate.

Last Sunday morning, Mrs. Hyman Bath was administered an overdose of morphine by mistake for quinine, and it was with considerable difficulty that the error was prevented from proving very serious. We are pleased to regard the fact that she has recovered from the effects of the deadly drug.
