Master Sergeant Cleveland Delong Abercrombie, age 71, of 210 Veranda Circle, Tallapoosa, GA, passed away, December 24, 2010.
Mr. Abercrombie was born November 17, 1939 in Shannon, GA to the late Carl (1917-1983) and Frances Webb Abercrombie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Bobby Owens and Billy Holt.
He was a member of West View Baptist Church. He retired as a Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force where he served for 26 years some of which were during the Vietnam War.
Surviving Mr. Abercrombie is his devoted wife of 48 years, Sharon Seggie Abercrombie, of Tallapoosa; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Frances Mounsey, of Tallapoosa, Kimberly and David dosSantos of Dartmouth, MA and Wrendi and Mark Beaupre of Tallapoosa; five grandchildren, Stephanie dosSantos, Lauren dosSantos, Monica Beaupre, Nicole Mounsey and Jessica Mounsey; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Audrey and John Daniel Thomas, LaVonne Abercrombie, Sandra Owens and Gayle Holt all of Tallapoosa; three nieces and nephews, Shawn and Chris Hosmer, Sheila and Ronnie Holt and Todd and Missy Abercrombie; as well as a grateful nation.
Funeral services were held December 28, 2010 at 12:00 PM from West View Baptist Church with Rev. Alton Stamey officiating. Music was provided by Diane Gray, Bryant Hand and Timmy Hand.
Pallbearers serving were David dosSantos, Mark Beaupre, Todd Abercrombie, Ronnie Holt, Chris Hosmer, John Mounsey and Phil MacDougal.
Interment followed in Hollywood Cemetery with Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA providing full military honors.
