Roy Lones

Roy Lones, 78, of Sweetwater, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

He was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church in Philadelphia, and was preceded in death by his children, Roxanne and Randy; his parents, Arthur and Pearl Dawson Lones; three brothers, Ross, Carroll and James Lones; and one stepdaughter, Sue Patterson.

Survivors include his wife, Ida McCampbell Lones; three sons, Jimmy and Tommy Lones, both of Illinois, and Allen Lones of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Katherine Walker and June Abbott, both of Sweetwater, Evelyn Howard of Niota, Louise Barrows of Illinois, and Diane Parks of Loudon; one brother, Wesley Lones of Illinois; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Mae McFallin, Wilma Jean Dover and Judy Ford, all of Georgia, and Charles Pritchett of Arizona; and five step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Biereley-Hale Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Cassady officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Murray's Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Biereley-Hale Funeral Home of Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
