PAUL R. ABBEY, 91, Home, died Thursday, May 7, 1992, at the Glenwood Nursing Home, Glen Campbell.
A son of John and Eleanor Jane Ostrander Abbey, he was born Feb. 11, 1901, in Donora.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Army National Guard, in which he received several rifle shooting awards.
He was a retired school bus driver, having worked for the Marion Center Area School District. He was also self-employed as a lumberman and a lapidary for Abbey's Rock Shop.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter: Howard D., Chambersville; William T., Honolulu; Nancy, Santa Cruz; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Postlwaite [sic] Abbey in 1988; two sons; Edward and John; four brothers: Edward, John, Howard and Shirl; five sisters: Emma Haggerty, Anna Mae Nutt, Ida Crawford, Estella Edmonston, Eleanor Reishaberger and Lenorea.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. May 17, in the Washington Church at Home.
Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, is in charge of arrangements.
