Grace Helen Sorenson, 84, Cottage Grove, MN, formerly of Minot, ND, died May 18, 2004, at her residence in Cottage Grove.

She was born on March 6, 1920, west of Maxbass, ND, the daughter of Julius and Anna Marie (Amundson) Johnson. She was reared and educated in Maxbass.

Grace married Clifford Sorenson on September 2, 1942 at a Lutheran church in Augusta, GA. Grace and Clifford moved to and from various cities until their daughter was born. The couple made their home in Inver Grove Heights, MN and later Minot, ND. Clifford died on July 11, 1997 in Minot. Grace continued to make her home in Minot until May of 2003 when she moved to Cottage Grove, MN to be closer to her daughter.

Grace enjoyed fishing, dancing, especially with the Polkateers and watching the Minnesota Twins.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Moose Lodge, Eagles Aerie, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Minot.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; step-son, Ronald Sorenson; her parents; 7 brothers and sisters, Oscar Johnson, Peary Johnson, Anna Stromswold, Carl Johnson, Bertha Bjorngaard, Mildred Svee and Eddie Johnson.
