Dorothy Evangeline Staton, age 91, of Helena, died on Monday, March 5, 2001, at the Evergreen Care Center in Clancy.

Dorothy was born on Feb. 28, 1910, in Choteau to William J. and Geneva (Zimmerman) Dorrington. She attended school in Glacier Park, Babb, Kalispell, Libby and business college in Spokane. She was employed with the Montana State Board of Equalization for two years until she married Ernest Anderson in 1930. Ernest preceded Dorothy in death in 1973. She then married Peter M. Staton in Wallace, Idaho, on Jan. 15, 1976. Peter died in 1982.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Junior Cathedral Guild and the St. Peter's Hospital Association manning the Hospitality Cart.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ernest Anderson and Peter Staton; brothers, Ben, Friendy, Lichfield, Kenneth and Bill Dorrington; sisters, Ruth Brewster, Mabel Ackerman and Edith Austin.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Richard K. Anderson of Cohasset, Mass., Jack E. (Lynn) Anderson of Helena, their stepdaughters, Kimberly, Christine and her husband, Kent; stepdaughter, Jana Staton and her husband, Roger and their daughter, Katie Shuy; brother, Jack Dorrington; sisters-in-law, Pat, Rosemary, and Millie Dorrington; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Brehe officiating. Interment will be held at Forestvale Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
