Rev. Charles Francis Lawter, age 73, of Lake Toxaway died Saturday April 3, 2010. He was born August 23, 1936 in Transylvania County, North Carolina to the late Charles Roscoe Lawter and Frances Chastain Lawter Owen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Lawter; one daughter, Denise Renae Lawter' one brother, Gary David Owen and grandchild, Michael Timothy Cross.

Mr. Lawter was retired from the U. S. Navy and was a member of Joe Byers and the Lamplighters Singing Ministry for 30 years.

Survivors include two daughters; one brother; four sisters; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 7, 2010 at 2 p. m. at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Von Galloway, Rev. Devon Owen and Rev. Tommy Owen. Interment will follow at Mack McCall Cemetery.

The family will recieve friends from 7 p. m. until 9 p. m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Moody-Connolly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
