Mildred Virginia Abbott, 82, Florence, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, after an extended illness.There will be no visitation. The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, with Brother Carey Collum officiating. Spry Serenity Chapel of Florence is directing.She was a native of Lauderdale County.She is survived by her husband, Prentiss A. Abbott, Florence; son, William Robert Abbott, Florence; and grandson, Robert P. Abbott.She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Cora Jones.She was employed as an executive secretary for the Civil Service before retirement.
