GRANVILLE -- Walter D. Acuncius, 77, of Granville died at 10 A.M. Nov. 3 in St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Helmer-Shields Funeral Home, Granville and at 10 a.m. in First Lutheran Church, Granville. The Rev. Susan Eckhoff will officiate. Burial will be in Granville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
He was born July 28, 1919, in Granville to Walter and Prudie (Scott) Acuncius. He married Evelyn Pletsch on July 4, 1943, in Immanuel Lutheran Church (County Line ), Peru.
He was a retired high school janitor from Hopkins [Township] High School.
He was an Army veteran, having served in the South Pacific in World War II and belonged to American Legion Post 180.
Survivors are his wife, Evelyn; a son, Wayne Acuncius of Spring Valley; a daughter, Lynn M. Acuncius of Granville; two grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Acuncius of rural Granville and Wesley Acuncius of Mark; and a sister, Mable Acuncius of Hennepin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

GRANVILLE -- Evelyn Acuncius, 76, of Granville died at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 1998, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley. Born April 30, 1922, in Peru Township to Henry and Irene Pletsch , she married Walter Acuncius on July 4, 1943, in rural Peru. He died in 1996. One sister also preceded her in death. Surviving are on son, Wayne of Spring Valley; one daughter, Lynn Acuncius of Granville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was an industrial nurse for Bassicks, Sunstran and Badge A Minute. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Granville. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Helmer-Shields Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. Tuesday at her church. The Rev. Susan Eckhoff will officiate. Burial will be in Granville Cemetery.
