ABEL - Floyd Eugene Abel, son of Roy and Lucetta Abel, was born January 31, 1907 in Wayne County, Iowa and passed away June 12, 1967 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital. He was 60 years, four months and 12 days of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy.
On August 22, 1926, he and Wilma Brown were married. To this union three children were born. They are Wayne of Ottumwa, Mrs. Ray (Wretha)Webb of Murray and Mrs. Dean (Louise) McNeish of Davenport.
He was a member of the Chariton Saddle Club, which he assisted in organizing, and the First Christian Church. His whole lifetime was spent in the farming business in Lucas and Wayne counties.
Surviving are his loving wife, Wilma; three children; seven grandchildren: Cathy and Kyle Abel, Patricia and Peggy Webb, Tammy, Eugene and Deana McNeish; one sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Verne (Floy) Brewer; one brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Delores) Abel; sons-in-law, Dean McNeish and Ray Webb and daughter-in-law, Mary Alice Abel; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 1967 at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
