Morley - Betty Ruth Abernathy, 57 years old, of Morley, died Sunday at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 18, 1934, in Searcy, Ark., the daughter of James Fowler and Lillie Lee Lathum Oliver.
She married Leeroy W. Abernathy on Mar. 7, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. He survives.
She was a machine operator at the Thorngate Clothing Factory before retiring in 1971. She was a member of the First Baptist Church here.
Other survivors include two sons, Winfer Ray and Billy Abernathy; two daughters, Wanda Lovel and Christy Whorton; five brothers, Alfred, Avery, Seth, Manuel and Albert Oliver; four sisters, Marie Abernathy, Ann Miller, Wilma Finn and Bonnie Pierce; 10 grandchildren, one step-grandchild and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Burial will be in the New Morley Cemetery.
