Henry Stegeman Adams, 89, of Heathsville (Cranes Creek) died Friday, September 11, 2009, when the Angels came to take him to be with the Lord. He was the son of the late Richard Franklin and Annie Stegeman Adams and was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Franklin Adams. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1946. Mr. Adams was a waterman from the age of 14 until his retirement at the age of 80.
Surviving are cousins, Jean Adams Shivel, Wally and Carol Adams, Cecil and Alma Padgett, Bob and Peggy Padgett; special friend and caregiver, Naomi Adkins.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15 at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock with Pastor Karen Sandoval officiating. Interment will be in the Wicomico United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wicomico Church. Friends may call 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, September 14 at the funeral home.
