Hazel Juanita Sawyer George, 56, of the 2500 block of Devonshire Drive, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 1997, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Born in Manteo, NC, she was the daughter of Lovie Beasley Sawyer of Wanchese and the late Pluman Elmer Sawyer. Mrs. George was the wife of Jerry Allen George Sr. [married Oct 2, 1959]. Surviving along with her mother are her daughter, Sherry Hodkins of Virginia Beach; a son, Jerry A. George Jr. of Chesapeake; six sisters, Goldie Brown of Jacksonville, FL, Ruby Scarborough of Kill Devil, Betty Rogers, Stella.....
